Promise 1 - 100% Electrification
Electricity access among the poorest 20% of the country has been increased from 53% to 86%. And in 19 States/UT, it is more than 95%.
Conclusion - FULFILLED ✅
Promise 2 - 100% Households with LPG
As per 2019-21 NFHS Survey , it was found that only 56.2 % of the population used LPG/PNG as primary cooking fuel.
Conclusion - NOT FULFILLED❌
Promise 3 - Pakka House for Everyone
In rural areas, 72% of the target is already completed but in urban areas just 51% of the target have been completed.
Conclusion - PARTIALLY FULFILLED
Promise 4 - Bank Accounts and Toilets
In 2021, 78% of Indians over the age of 15 had a bank account which is a significant increase from 44% in 2011.
Additionally more than 95% of households have access to toilets.
Conclusion - FULFILLED ✅
Promise 5 - Poverty in single digit
Although the data says that less than 10% live below poverty but the indicator is quite outdated (Rs. 150 is the poverty line).
Hence, the data may differ.
Conclusion - NOT FULFILLED ❌
Overall , BJP has succeeded in providing access to toilets, electricity and partially the pakka house to everyone.
However, they have failed to achieve its LPG, Poverty targets.
